The Vanishing Cancer!

Mrs. DMC came with little hope on her mind from her African nation with her husband an English citizen settled in Africa, in a restless dyspneic (breathless) state in our emergency..this was due to spread of her cancer in lungs..she has suffered from Cancer of breast for last 2 years and everything was going bad about it. ‎X ray chest done on the day of her admission is testimonial of her breathlessness with multiple cancer nodules occupying space of her lung that she could hardly breathe. PET showed her cancer has not only traveled to lungs but also multiple bones.

In the midst of everything she was also detected to be immunocompromised due to a viral infection not so uncommon in Africa only to make things bad to worse.

However her will to live to see her grandchildren grow up was larger than life.  With our multidisciplinary care and careful, diligent treatment planning – in less than a month Mrs. DMC was without oxygen support and on her own feet. Her X-ray 1 month apart is evidence of her “vanishing cancer”‎.. she and her husband were all smiling to go back to their country..It was indeed worth the effort and visit to foreign land..

She will take pending chemo sessions in Africa as per our protocol….and return to India for planning maintenance chemo in august..
