How Bandage Can Cause Cancer? And What are the Alternatives of Bandage?

Dr. Manish Singhal Explained

There are no technical names

These are chemical names called as "forever chemicals" as they are durable and remain in system for long periods and not degradable the chemical name cannot be simplified further

PFAS is a broad term and there are numerous chemicals in this class of which PFOA only is labeled as carcinogen by the highest authority IARC. Rest of the chemicals lack any evidence to cause cancer in humans. Even PFOA is studied in rat models and human evidence is lacking still IARC brought it under the cancer causing agent(carcinogen).

My research didn't reveal PFOA to be an inclusion in bandaid. More so the other PFAS in bandaid is in the outer layer to make it more durable and wash proof.

As such there are numerous ways PFAS like chemicals can enter into our system such plastic cups non stick cookware and in much higher quantity

Now to label a mere bandaid with likely miniscule absorption into the human system that too from its outer layer of PFAS to cause cancer sounds preposterous if we keep our head on our shoulder. Bandaid an important first aid utility product cannot be dismissed on a haox call.
