"Sometimes, when you don't expect it, life throws you a curveball" Sonali on battling Metastatic

Life is uncertain, we make plans for the future without taking consideration of the present. We as human beings never ponder what will happen next, forgetting the best or worst is about to come.

We all know about cancer, just hearing about the word gives us goosebumps. Have you ever considered the pain and journey what cancer patients go through?

Bollywood has always remained the favorite home for this sickness. Earlier this year, Irfan wrote on Twitter that he is suffering from cancer which is elusive and hard to describe but being diagnosed with the best treatment and the unconditional love received by him, he successfully fought it. The new to join the list is Sonali Bendre, yes she is undergoing cancer. Shocked! Right.

On 4th July, Sonali took the courage and took it to twitter that she is currently suffering from metastatic cancer. Sonali Bendre is a legendary and veteran actress and acted in super hits like Kal ho naa ho, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Diljale, Sarfarosh and counting on.

Hard to believe and very painful to hear about, this actress has thanked her fans for the unconditional love she received. It gives me a new kind of belief and confidence, taking this head on, she said.

“Sometimes, when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball. I have recently been diagnosed with high-grade cancer that has metastised, which we frankly did not see coming. A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them.

There is no better way to tackle this than to take swift and immediate action. And so, as advised by my doctors, I am currently undergoing a course of treatment in New York. We remain optimistic and I am determined to fight every step of the way. What has helped has been the immense outpouring of love and support I’ve received past few days, for which I am very grateful.

I’m taking this battle head-on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me” wrote Sonali trying to stop her pain from coming out but texted it with a pure heart.

WHAT IS METASTATIC CANCER?

We all know that cancer cells spread in a particular region or organ (primary tumor). When these cancer cells spread to other parts of the body through lymph nodes or bloodstream, fortifying cancer to other organs, is termed as metastatic cancer or “metastised” in scientific terms.

The symptoms of this cancer have not been found and the symptoms found are identical to some small illness making it hard to find.
